Here at True Performance Real Estate, we strive to find the perfect home for our clients because they now live in the best state in the U.S. and we want them to have the perfect home so that they can enjoy everything that Colorado offers. From great weather to fantastic activities, the Centennial State boasts more benefits for its residents than any other. It’s no wonder that people are flocking here!

If you couldn’t tell, we love to live and work here and are excited to tell you why, so after a 2 week office poll, here are the best reasons that we could think of to live in Colorado.

Weather in Colorado

There is a common joke among locals… there are 4 main seasons in Colorado: Autumn, Winter, Spring, and Construction. As much of a groan as that gets, there is a kernel of truth to it. Colorado does have all four wonderful seasons! Sometimes all in one day!

In the fall, people gather in the foothills to watch the aspen leaves turn a rich yellow and softly drop; making the ground appear to be as golden as the rich mineral that used to be mined nearby. Eventually, time makes its stately progression to winter which often spans the holidays from Halloween to Easter; leaving the mountains covered in fresh powder that lasts until July.

But what about spring and summer? They’re there, we promise!

If Colorado has one thing, it’s sunshine! With an average of 300+ days of sunny weather every year, spring and summer show up year round. Rare is the snowstorm that gets to leave nasty streets for more than a week. More often than not, 2 foot high snowdrifts have disappeared in 2-3 days; melted off by glorious sunshine! How’s that for fantastic weather?

The Diversity of Amazing Sports Teams in Colorado

Every major sport has a home and a loyal fan base here! From the Broncos at Mile High Stadium to the Rockies at Coors Field, if you love a sport, we have it! Soccer, lacrosse, hockey, basketball; all major national teams that play within a mile of each other! The Avalanche and Nuggets share the Pepsi Event Center while the Rapids enjoy Dicks Sporting Goods Park.

A Wealth of Recreation… It’s an Adult Playground!

Colorado is a playground for adults. Since the only terrain we are missing is surf-able waves, every other outdoor activity has a place here. Do you like to ski? Then you have almost year round opportunities to do so. What about climbing? We recommend Shelf Road near Canon City. The south facing slopes there keep the face sunny all year long which makes it a great place to climb even in the winter.

Of course no list of Colorado activities would be complete without hiking and biking. Almost every major town and city here have at least one or two paths designed specifically for two feet or two wheels. There’s even a place for you to commute from Denver to Boulder by bicycle if you want. We hear there’s a guy who makes the trip on a unicycle!

Colorado is Burdeonging into a Cultural Mecca

So what do you do when you’ve worn yourself out on the bike trail or want to spend a day sight seeing? How about a trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science? They have a new fascinating exhibit every few months to enjoy and it’s a short walk from the Zoo. If you’d rather enjoy art over science, it’s a short drive to the Denver Performing Arts Center for concerts, plays, and other events such as the ballet.

Completing Denver’s cultural triangle is the RINO district where you can enjoy great food while touring various art galleries.

Colorado is the BEST place to live!

It’s hard to imagine a better place to live than Colorado. We have everything here for indoor and outdoor enthusiasts as well as a multitude of sports teams for fans. Whatever the activity is, we have a place for you and the weather to make sure you have a lot of fun. If you haven’t made it here yet, we can’t wait to see you when you do!
